When we think about the ascension of Jesus, we may be tempted to think that Jesus left his followers behind to fend for themselves. Scripture and lived experience show us this just isn't the case. Today we worship our ascended Savior, giving thanks for the power we have through him. We also pay tribute to the fallen heroes of our congregation while gratefully acknowledging all who have or continue to serve.
